Six Sleeps to New Orleans

 As I write this I am so much closer to our trip to New Orleans.

I still have not packed a bag, but I have changed my money over.

Mind you, I don't have a lot but after exchange (and our dollar with disgusting at the moment)  I really understood that there will be savage budgeting happening to last me three weeks.

Still, there are plenty of options in America so I won't feel badly done by.

I am still rather stressed about everyone's safety and I just feel responsible for everyone having a good time.

It's a different ball game being free to just head off and look after yourself on a tour (we did that in Germany) but this time we are part of the deal. I know we both want to give our group a good time.

This is why we chose to arrive two days earlier so we have a chance to suss out the city, do some videoing, get over jet lag and be in best shape for when we are together.

I've been looking at all of the sites on our itinerary and the list is hefty. I'm tired just looking at it - are we actually going to do all of that in 10 days?

Haunted accommodation in the French Quarter, a visit to the garden district and a walk by ( like stalkers) of Anne Rice's house are on the bill. We have a cemetery tour, we meet a voodoo practitioner for a workshop, we talk to Bloody Mary and sit in on a Seance with her (I'm gonna love to see how she does it) We do a tour with a vampire ( well, someone dressed as a vampire?). We head into some spiritual shops for shopping and spend time at the Absinthe Bar and the Haunted Pharmacy. We also visit Baton Rouge and spend a night at Myrtles Plantation.

I have to write a daily collection of thoughts and memories or all of this will escape my mind.

So there is plenty more coming, especially all of the tricky things that maybe do not turn out so well, because you know, those bits make the best stories.

Lemon Tree Passage Ghost - Local legend is alive and well

Lemon Tree Passage  is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of beautiful Port Stephens .  Ever since I can remember there have been a few urban legends about a stretch of highway named Lemon Tree Passage Road. Headless Ghost Story from Port Stephens

  Headless  Ghost. A N.S.W. Mystery. A correspondent writes to a  Sydney paper : — Many years ago a retired sea captain built a large house in  a lonely spot at the junction of Limeburners' Creek and Karuah River (Port Stephens), and therein reared a large family, After the old dad' went west,' most of the family being married, the house was taken by a fisherman with a large family.   At night they were disturbed by footsteps, doors opening and shutting, crockery rattling and on moonlight nights the figure of a woman without a bead would be observed.
