Just another Manic Friday (16th July 2022)

Fridays are a busy day as we are committed to presenting a one hour live sharing ghost stories with our audience on an American network platform called THE SPIRIT REALM NETWORK.

This is our second American paranormal broadcasting network we have been associated with and really the purpose of it is to gain a great following abroad.

We broadcast from 10am AEST, normally enough time for me to get my act together and head on over to Anne's where all the gear is set up. This morning I slept in.

I set my alarm, woke up, turned over and went straight back to sleep.

That feeling of dread washed over me when I woke later KNOWING I was supposed to be somewhere.

I looked at my phone and it was 9.20am.

OOPS..

I was not going to make it in time.

I had promised Anne I would not do this to her again.

So I flung myself out of bed and crashed and banged into furniture making my way done the stairs to the bath room.

I was out the door with a cup of coffee my husband had made in under 10 minutes and I made it to Anne's and at the desk to present with 1 minute to spare.

We presented our stories from 10am to 11am AEST Sydney time.

After that we threw down some breakfast and our next interview was with an American podcaster, Jeffrey Jon from the SOMETHING SUPER SPIRITUAL PODCAST, who learnt about us from our beautiful friend Patrick Keller, host of the BIG SEANCE PODCAST.

Check out Patrick's podcast - he is the bomb!

It was very much fun and I think we may have been just a little too crazy for Jeffrey, but, he did mention he would love to have us back. ( Maybe he says that to everyone?!!!)😲

I tried to catch up with a few emails and then we had a big meeting with the Newcastle Live Radio producers about our Sunday evening Radio Show called SPOOKY SUNDAYS ( now also available as  podcast) and we hoped to mention the 'M' word - MONEY.

But, that was kind of delicately maneuvered as far away from the conversation as possible.

Instead we were made aware that the real need was sponsorship dollars.💰💰

The station was still struggling and even though we were the highest listener show they had, we were not going to be paid any time soon.

This was not really a surprise, but it was also not going to deter us from continuing. The radio show is something we really love doing.

We got onto the job of finding ideas about sponsorship and sent it off to the station so that we might get some interest brewing.

Then it was some work on tomorrow's sleepover event at Lochinvar House and looking for topics for our podcasts.

It was already 3.30pm and we had to get ready for our tour that night at Maitland Gaol.

I made sure everyone was still coming and one last step was to check with the Gaol just to triple check that we were all good to go.

Good thing I did - we DID not have a tour on after all.

So, I frantically made sure the team knew I had made a huge fuck up with dates.

I think this suggested 'time out' for me which I did.

I shit the lap top and had an early night.

Not all days are scenes from 'Most Haunted' lol.

Title: Haunting History and Ghostly Whispers: The Story of Morisset Insane Asylum

If you’re fascinated by eerie places, spine-chilling ghost stories, and a slice of Australian history, then you’re in for a treat. Today, we’re diving into the intriguing past of one of New South Wales’ most infamous locations – the Morisset Insane Asylum, nestled in the quiet town of Morisset near Newcastle. Ready to uncover its secrets? Let’s go! The Beginning: When and Why Was Morisset Insane Asylum Created? Back in the early 1900s, mental health care was a very different beast from what it is today. In 1908, the Morisset Insane Asylum was established to serve as a psychiatric hospital primarily for patients from the Hunter Region and northern NSW. The government needed a facility to care for those struggling with mental illnesses, and Morisset was chosen for its remote and tranquil setting—ideal, they thought, for healing. The asylum was built with a mix of imposing brick buildings and sprawling grounds. It was designed not just as a hospital but as a self-sufficient commun...

Lemon Tree Passage Ghost - Local legend is alive and well

Lemon Tree Passage  is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of beautiful Port Stephens .  Ever since I can remember there have been a few urban legends about a stretch of highway named Lemon Tree Passage Road. The story begins when a motor bike rider and his pillion passenger died after colliding with a four wheel drive killing both. This seems to be the source of the ghostly lights and apparition. These sort of events don't stay quiet in small townships. Stories spread fast often not ending up like they started. Every so often this urban legend makes a comeback with a number to people tempting fate and poking the ghost rider.             A memorial to Dale Dickens on the Lemon Tree Passage Road / Pic: Robert Mckell Source:The Daily Telegraph The  Lemon Tree Passage ghost  f...

Diary of a Ghost Hunter - The Wallacia Hotel

We were given the opportunity of staying overnight at the Wallachia Hotel in Western Sydney. The hotelwas officially opened on December 3rd 1937. During the Second World War the hotel was used as the Army headquarters for radiopyhysics. I had never been to the Wallacia Hotel before, but, my ghost hunting gal pal Anne, had been there about 5 years ago with a group of Paranormal Investigators that she was working with at the time. We arrived and we were greeted by Craig, the night manager, who welcomed us with open arms.  Craig recognised Anne from the last time she had visited.  Anne asked whether any spooky things had been happening over the last few years. Craig said that he always thought that there was something a little bit weird going on late at night. Over the last few months everything had changed as the Hotel had been very much affected by the COVID lock downs This was a huge hotel with quite an interesting history even though in the whole scheme of things the h...
