New Destination - New Adventures

Our countdown to New Orleans is starting today.

Twelve more sleeps until we board a plane for my very first visit to the United States.

I am excited but a little tentative.

I don't know how I will react to some of the new experiences awaiting me.

One of the quirky things I want to do is taste the delights of drive thru's - I've heard of many of them but I can only image what they are like until I try them for myself.

I have heard on In-N-Out and Popeyes - what is Biscuitville?

If there is one you think we should sample, let me know in the comments.

Other than the food, I have never experienced the tipping culture that is in the US so that will be quite different and also currently our AUS$ is absolute shit so I will still have to count my pennies.

New Orleans is a bucket list destination for me as I have done a number of podcast episodes on True Hauntings Podcast and we have talked about some of the more haunted sites in the area.

But, actually visiting and setting foot onto those places will be another level of excitement.

We have a lot of different activities planned including a Seance with Bloody Mary, a cemetery tour, and vampire tour, visiting Myrtles and staying overnight, a riverboat cruise and more.

This is being co ordinated and run through Mysterious Adventures based in the USA and we are acting as hosts for our group on intrepid ghost hunters mostly from Australia.

Just before I finish this post this trip was a long time coming. We had originally planned to go and we were soooo close - only weeks out with everything paid for and flights booked with 20 people coming with us. Then Covid lockdown happened and we had to scramble. We had a long look at the situation and asked everyone what they wanted and most of us were to scared to travel so we had to cancel and try and get s much money back as possible.

Through the hard work of Anne ( my business buddy) she managed to get everything minus a small amount people lost and everyone had to deal with their own airfare credits.

Fingers crossed this is now a clear run to the finish line.

Diary of a Ghost Hunter - The Wallacia Hotel

We were given the opportunity of staying overnight at the Wallachia Hotel in Western Sydney. The hotelwas officially opened on December 3rd 1937. During the Second World War the hotel was used as the Army headquarters for radiopyhysics. Lemon Tree Passage Ghost - Local legend is alive and well

Lemon Tree Passage is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of beautiful Port Stephens . Ever since I can remember there have been a few urban legends about a stretch of highway named Lemon Tree Passage Road. The story begins when a motor bike rider and his pillion passenger died after colliding with a four wheel drive killing both. This seems to be the source of the ghostly lights and apparition. Diary of a Ghost Hunter - Lochinvar House in the Hunter Valley NSW

I have just spent a weekend at the historic homestead - Lochinvar House, just outside of Lochinvar in the NSW Hunter Valley. This was, for me, a team bonding opportunity and a chance to get away from worries associated with Covid. It was also where members of my ghost hunting volunteers got to head onto this site before we invited in the public, to check out the stories of ghosts and alleged hauntings. Now, as usual, not all historic houses are haunted. And even more intriguing, it seems that not all historic houses are haunted for all the families that live therein. Many times I have heard this - one family may experience seeing and hearing strange things happening at all hours of the day and night. Yet, another family will move in and.....nothing!
