WTF Just Happened?

I'm writing this still 'vibing' off the experience that we have just had this evening.

Now, you may thing we did something extraordinary, and for us it was, but maybe for you not so much.

Simply put we got into a car, with a complete stranger, to check out his home for ghosts.

But let's rewind a little so that you can understand how all of this happened - and yes we are safe and sound.

Today we left Madam Isobelle's for our next overnight stay which was the Andrew Jackson Hotel.

We were greeted by the delightful and helpful Chris at Reception who asked us all about why we were visiting New Orleans. Of course we told him about our businesses and our tour group arriving and that we were keen to see if any of the spirits of the hotel were going to come forward during our stay.

He then proceeded to tell us about the fact that he lives in a haunted and vert historic house - once the residence of a plantation owner. The 'master' had this home in the city to do business and while there he also had many slaves which ran the house and were housed directly opposite his house with a courtyard in the middle.

He insisted that he was coming back after his shift to pick us up and that his husband would be so pleased to see us.

Um...what?

But we said yes - we had been offered a private investigation what else could we do?!!

So at 6.45pm he arrived and took us to his home just a few minutes away and just outside of the French Quarter,

He told us about the home he shared and that is was built on land where slaves were once housed in pens waiting to be sold of to farms and plantations to do hard work.

Some of the prettiest women were held back for special sales to men who were wealthy and wanted mistresses when they were out of town.

These positions would normally see the chosen women looked after for life along with any children born to the master ( although I would assume that the children would remain bastards).

As we talked about what this gorgeous couple had been experiencing that neighbours who lived in one of the apartments joined us to tell their stories and we all experienced each other with full acceptance.

Here we were in the home of a person who had met us only that morning for about 10 minutes and we were being told details and complexities of life in New Orleans.

Again to get to the bottom of the hauntings we gave them time to talk about themselves and the hauntings to try and work out what was happening and why and not one piece of equipment needed to be used to get to the answer.

Proof that the place was haunted was not needed - they knew it was.

Our job was to tell them why and whether they were safe.

Of course they were safe and the house ghost was just making sure that they were aware of her.

I gave them some tips on what they could do to just nurture the relationship and put in some boundaries and see happens.

Sometimes in haunting cases the targets are sharing a space with the spirits of the past and in living a serene and loving life they can heal the space from any prior hurts and there for heal the souls that stay behind so that they no longer feel the need to remain.

We were taken back to our hotel after three amazing hours and they wanted us back for a meal and more talk - I don't think we will have time for that unfortunately but we felt so honored to have spent time with all of these local people and it's going to be an experience we remember.

See, it wasn't a big wow full bodied apparition experience ( that might still happen while we are here) but is was a powerful moment of just jumping in to experience a moment and me totally present and in the moment with trust that all would be OK without any expectations.

We did film it by the way and we hope to have it available to watch in a few weeks time on our YouTube channel.

We will see, in the mean time, if the ghosts of the Andrew Jackson wish to come and play.

Diary of a Ghost Hunter - The Wallacia Hotel

We were given the opportunity of staying overnight at the Wallachia Hotel in Western Sydney. The hotelwas officially opened on December 3rd 1937. During the Second World War the hotel was used as the Army headquarters for radiopyhysics. I had never been to the Wallacia Hotel before, but, my ghost hunting gal pal Anne, had been there about 5 years ago with a group of Paranormal Investigators that she was working with at the time. We arrived and we were greeted by Craig, the night manager, who welcomed us with open arms.  Craig recognised Anne from the last time she had visited.  Anne asked whether any spooky things had been happening over the last few years. Craig said that he always thought that there was something a little bit weird going on late at night. Over the last few months everything had changed as the Hotel had been very much affected by the COVID lock downs This was a huge hotel with quite an interesting history even though in the whole scheme of things the hotel was only

Lemon Tree Passage Ghost - Local legend is alive and well

Lemon Tree Passage  is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of beautiful Port Stephens .  Ever since I can remember there have been a few urban legends about a stretch of highway named Lemon Tree Passage Road. The story begins when a motor bike rider and his pillion passenger died after colliding with a four wheel drive killing both. This seems to be the source of the ghostly lights and apparition. These sort of events don't stay quiet in small townships. Stories spread fast often not ending up like they started. Every so often this urban legend makes a comeback with a number to people tempting fate and poking the ghost rider.             A memorial to Dale Dickens on the Lemon Tree Passage Road / Pic: Robert Mckell Source:The Daily Telegraph The  Lemon Tree Passage ghost  first made headlines in 2010 after drivers cau

Diary of a Ghost Hunter - Lochinvar House in the Hunter Valley NSW

I have just spent a weekend at the historic homestead - Lochinvar House, just outside of Lochinvar in the NSW Hunter Valley. This was, for me, a team bonding opportunity and a chance to get away from worries associated with Covid. It was also where members of my ghost hunting volunteers got to head onto this site before we invited in the public, to check out the stories of ghosts and alleged hauntings. Now, as usual, not all historic houses are haunted. And even more intriguing, it seems that not all historic houses are haunted for all the families that live therein. Many times I have heard this - one family may experience seeing and hearing strange things happening at all hours of the day and night. Yet, another family will move in and.....nothing! And so it is.. Why is it like this? I don't know. Do the ghosts pick us? Lochinvar House was built back in the late 1820's by Leslie Duguid who was granted a enormous amount of land in 1822. He was one of the first land owners in N
