Well, there was a Level 7 out of 10 epic meltdown in the Daniel house hold this morning as I tried to pack everything, along with the kitchen sink, into my suitcase ready for England.
It was seriously funny - I must have lost the capacity to think straight and I reminded myself that I would probably not wear most of what I packed - so I unpacked and decided to just throw in the necessary branded T shirts, a spare pair of jeans, shoes, socks, undies and our Holy Holes and Sacred Bushes Hoodie.
Done!
Then came the food that all of our friends have asked us for - vegemite, Tim Tams, chicken salt, pavlova mix etc, etc..
Food for ex pats comes first.
Then the camera gear, various grades of coats to cope with what is anything from 2 degrees to 12 degrees at the moment and other assorted pieces of paraphernalia.
We arrived at our hotel - the Rydges, directly across from the main terminal.
Anne said she wanted to book as close to the terminal as possible so we could get that extra 5 minutes of sleep and get into the Qantas lounge for our coffees and croissant before we depart.
Our flight leaves at 6am in the morning - so we will not be getting much sleep.
But we are now SO DAMN CLOSE.
Just get us on that plane.
Anne is currently setting the wake up alarm for 2.45am!!!
Do we even bother going to sleep at all?
Oh, I'm getting very excited.
